Gentle mouth tape with a breathing slit

Sleep with your mouth closed. Wake up without a dry mouth.

A soft strip that keeps your lips resting together so you breathe through your nose while you sleep. Hypoallergenic adhesive with an eight hour hold. A small slit in the middle, so you never feel sealed in.

  • Hypoallergenic
  • Breathing slit
  • Refund on the first box, nothing to send back

In the box

30 strips. One month of nights.

Why nose breathing

Your nose is built for sleep. Your mouth is not.

It is easy to fall asleep breathing through the nose and drift to the mouth somewhere in the night. The tape is a quiet reminder for your lips to stay together, so your nose does its job.

A mouth that is not dry at 6am

Mouth breathing dries your lips and throat by morning. Keeping the mouth closed keeps the moisture where it belongs.

A quieter room

An open mouth is a noisier way to sleep. Some people notice a calmer room once the lips stay together through the night.

A habit, not a gadget

There is nothing to charge and nothing in your mouth. One strip a night, and the habit builds itself over a few weeks.

Night one

Lips together. Nose does the rest.

The slit sits over the line of your mouth. You can still talk and take a breath through it if you need to. A few nights in, you stop noticing it.

What we changed

We read a few thousand reviews of other tapes before we made ours.

The complaints repeat. It pulls in the morning. It feels like being sealed shut. It stops sticking by 3am. Each of those became a design decision.

A slit in the middle

You can still take a breath through your mouth if you need one. After the first few nights you stop noticing it.

Hypoallergenic adhesive

Made to hold for eight hours and lift away in the morning without pulling at your skin.

Elastic, not stiff

The strip stretches with your face when you turn, so it stays put instead of peeling at the corners.

Ships every 90 nights

One box a season, not a parcel every month. Pause or cancel from your account whenever you like.

How it works

Three seconds before bed.

  1. 1

    Dry lips, dry skin

Pat the area around your mouth dry after your evening routine. Skip lip balm and moisturizer there. They stop any tape from sticking.

  2. 2

Rest your lips, place the strip

Lips together, no pressure. Center the strip so the slit sits over the line of your mouth. Press for a second.

  3. 3

    Breathe through your nose

That is it. In the morning, lift one corner and peel slowly toward the center. Give it a week before you judge it.

Nervous about the first night? Try it while you are still up.

Put a strip on half an hour before you turn the light off, while you read or watch something. If it feels fine, sleep with it on. If it does not, peel it off and try again tomorrow. There is no rush. Read the full first week guide.

Add to your box

Three things that make the habit stick.

Each one is $19 on its own and $10 inside a box, and they ride in the same parcel as your tape on the same schedule. Add them once and they stay on your plan until you take them off.

A pair of clear silicone nose vents

Nose vents

$19$10

Soft silicone cones sit just inside your nostrils and hold them open. They give a blocked nose more room than a strip can, which is the one thing that makes people give up on tape. Rinse them and use them again.

  • Reusable, rinse between nights
  • Small, medium and large in the pack
Add nose vents
A soft black contoured sleep mask with a flat elastic strap

Sleep mask

$19$10

Contoured, so it rests on the bone around your eyes instead of pressing on your lashes. Nose closed and light out is one gesture, and the two together are what turn a good night into a routine you keep.

  • No pressure on the lashes
  • Flat strap, nothing to feel on the pillow
Add the mask
Thirty beige adhesive nose strips

Extra nose strips

$19$10

Thirty more strips on top of the thirty in your box. Congestion is the reason most people stop taping, and it never arrives on a schedule. A second month of backup means one blocked week does not cost you the habit.

  • 30 strips, one per night
  • Wears with the tape, not instead of it
Add nose strips

First nights

No studio, no script.

A few first nights, filmed on a phone. The strip goes on, the box goes on the shelf, the lights go off.

“Works really well. Just be careful if you have a beard. Pull it off gently and it comes right off.”
“Surprisingly comfortable. It lasts all night as long as I wipe my skin first. No marks in the morning.”
“My sleep has improved. I am learning to breathe through my nose, and no dry mouth in the morning.”
“It has helped me sleep better. And my wife says it works, so that is the real review.”

Who it is for

Not a men's product. Not a women's product.

A strip on the lips does not care who is wearing it. Ours is sized for an adult face, in one shape, with no version that costs more because of who it is for.

If you wake up with a dry mouth

The mouth drifts open somewhere in the night and the throat dries out by morning. That is the thing a strip is for.

If you share a room

An open mouth is a noisier way to sleep. Some people notice a calmer room once the lips stay together. Some do not, and the first box is refundable.

If you have tried tape before

The three complaints we kept reading were the pull in the morning, the sealed in feeling and the 3am peel. The slit, the adhesive and the elastic fabric are our answers to those.

Not for children, and not for anyone who cannot breathe comfortably through the nose. Read who should skip it.

Questions

Things people ask before the first night.

Who should not use mouth tape?+

Anyone who cannot breathe comfortably through the nose, has a cold or blocked sinuses, has been drinking alcohol or taken sedatives, or has been told they have a breathing disorder during sleep. It is not for children. If you are unsure, ask your doctor first. Stillseal is a comfort product, not a treatment.

What if my nose blocks in the night?+

The slit in the middle lets air through, and the strip peels off with one hand in a second. The starter box also includes nose strips for the nights your nose needs a little more room.

Does it hurt to take off?+

Lift a corner and peel slowly toward the center. The adhesive is chosen to hold overnight and release in the morning. Dry skin with no balm at bedtime makes the morning easier.

Does it work with a beard?+

It sits on the lips and the skin right around them. Stubble is fine. A full beard that covers the lips will hold less well.

How does the membership work?+

Your first box is $79 and covers 90 nights. From then on a new box ships every 90 nights at $59. You can skip a season or cancel from your account page, with no calls and no forms.

How long does shipping take?+

Orders leave within three business days and reach US addresses in 7 to 15 days. Every order gets a tracking link.

Does the slit defeat the purpose?+

No. The tape works by keeping your lips resting together, so your nose stays the easy route for air. The slit is a short opening at the line of the mouth. It does not hold the lips apart, and with your mouth relaxed it lets very little air through. It is there for the moment your nose feels tight or you wake up and want a breath. In the reviews we read, a full seal was a common reason people gave up after one night. We would rather you keep going.

Could I suffocate, or feel trapped?+

If your nose is clear, you breathe through it as you already do for most of the night. If something feels wrong, the slit lets air pass and the strip peels off with one hand in about a second. If the idea still makes you nervous, put a strip on half an hour before bed while you read. Many people forget it is there before the light goes off. If you cannot breathe comfortably through your nose, do not use tape at all.

I use a CPAP machine. Can I use this?+

Please ask your sleep clinician first, and follow their advice over anything on this page. Stillseal is a comfort product for adults who breathe freely through the nose. It is not made for people with a diagnosed sleep breathing disorder, and it is not a substitute for any treatment.
